Return To Campus (Town Hall Meetings)
Carleton’s recent announcements about a limited return to in-person teaching in Fall 2021 have raised concerns for CUPE 4600 members. While we all want to move out of the pandemic, we want to ensure that Carleton's plan for a return to in-person teaching doesn't put our members at risks of exposure to COVID-19.
The lack of clarity around Carleton's plan can certainly make some of us anxious or worried. And while there is a lot we don't know about Carleton's plan, What we do know is that CUPE 4600 wants to make the safety of our members a priority.
To help us better understand where the membership is at, the main concerns, and possible solutions, we are organizing a series of Town Hall style meetings to share what we do know so far, and what you would like us to know.
CUPE 4600 members are invited to join us at one of four upcoming Town Halls. The sessions will be divided by departments, with one sessions open to members of every department who may not be able to attend other sessions. We'll have Unit 1 and Unit 2 members present at all sessions, so that we may learn from each other and strategize together for a safe September.
If you have any questions about these town halls, or if you would like to contact the union directly about your concerns, please do not hesitate to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Town Halls will be happening on these dates:
Tuesday, July 6th, 7pm (Arts, Social Sciences, Public Affairs).
Thursday July 8th, 7pm (Engineering, Design, Science)
Tuesday, July 13, 7pm (Sprott)
Thursday, July 15, 1pm (any department)
